Students are on summer vacation, but Governor Gretchen Whitmer and bureaucrats are already figuring out ways to make heading back to school this fall more difficult.
The Governor and her health department recently published new, formal recommendations that school districts require masks for kindergartners and elementary school students for the upcoming school year.
It’s guidance that flies in the face of the science, the evidence, and the counsel of experts who’ve identified young students as those least at risk of COVID-19 and least likely to spread it to others.
Whitmer and the public school bureaucracy locked our kids out of their classrooms for months in 2020 and 2021. Now they’re making policy recommendations to pave the way for even more restrictions on our students.
Parents have had enough, and we’re fighting alongside them.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer late in June published formal recommendations that school districts force kindergartners and elementary school students to wear masks at school next year, but the science shows she’s wrong. The scientific evidence is clear and it’s unambiguous. Far more than half the state’s eligible population has been vaccinated, immunizations are available to anyone who wants one, and young children are at by far the lowest risk of contracting, experiencing serious symptoms from, or transmitting COVID-19.
In fact, studies show that where school children have tested positive for COVID-19, they are dramatically more likely to have contracted the virus at home or from family than from classmates.
The Governor spent the last year telling our kids what they can do, when they can do it, and what they have to wear – without any scientific evidence to back her up. Now she wants to control kids into 2022.
Enough is enough.
Contact your local school board today. Tell them you’ve had enough, and encourage them to follow the science, the data, and the experts, and to drop unscientific mask mandates for kindergartners and other young students.
