GLEP: Michigan Students Big Winners in Trump’s State of the Union Address

President Promotes Education Freedom Scholarships, Opportunities that Meet the Unique Needs for Every Student

LANSING – Great Lakes Education Project Executive Director Beth DeShone today thanked President Donald Trump for championing the rights of students – including students in Michigan – during his State of the Union address.

“The fight in Washington, D.C. to empower students in Michigan and across the nation with the opportunity to attend the school that best meets their needs is one worth fighting,” said DeShone.  “President Trump has been a steadfast defender of students – every student – and Education Freedom Scholarships represent just one opportunity for policymakers to put the needs of students first in education, while rewarding taxpayers who invest in students.  GLEP is grateful for the President’s leadership on behalf of Michigan kids, and stands with him in the fight to give them access to the schools – including public charter schools – and innovative learning opportunities they deserve.”
